From light food to go with drinks, a quick weekday lunch, a relaxed dinner, or lazy Sunday roast - our aim is to provide carefully prepared dishes that have their roots in classic pub-grub and brasserie food. Home-smoked salmon with baby beetroots and horseradish is 'perfectly simple and simply perfect' we are told, and that is what we want to hear.
Our food is accompanied by over 40 wines from a huge range of grape varieties, a selection of real ales and other premium beers.
All our food is home-made from fresh seasonal ingredients. Ciabattas and focaccias are made by us, for instance, and we select the finest meat and mince ourselves for the burgers. You can see the chefs at work in our open kitchen.
The theme of keeping food fresh and simple runs through the menu - a really good steak sandwich with fried onions and home-made horseradish, proper chips, fish in a light and crispy batter with minted pea puree, sit alongside a light rustic dish of fresh sardine fillets on bruschetta with Sicilian marinade.
Lunches feature our ever-popular sandwich dishes and the best-selling roasted butternut squash and grilled goat's cheese salad as well as daily-changing specials.
In the evening we have a bar menu for sharing and snacking with an a la carte menu served in the restaurant area.
On weekends we offer a casual breakfast, brunch, and lunch menu on Saturday whilst Sundays are all about our classic English roasts served from 1pm 'til it's gone.
In summer we have barbecues in the garden (weather permitting, of course).
